Please join the Rapid River and Bay de Noc Quilt Guilds at the Quilts at the Bay Quilt Show. Admission is $5 per person donation. Proceeds benefit local community charities. Bay College is wheelchair accessible.
We will be displaying locally made quilts, our quilt challenge quilts and antique quilts. There will be vendors, a viewer's choice award, a featured area quilter, a raffle quilt, a bed turning and demonstrations. You will also be entertained with live music.
We will also be featuring the Rapid River Guild's calendar quilts and selling the pattern for a donation. Door prizes and raffle baskets will add to the fun with great prizes.
If you would like to display a quilt in the show, please complete our on-line entry form at www.quilts-at-the-bay.mywebquilter.com. Entry forms must be received by September 30, 2011. Feel free to print the form form our website to share with other quilters. We ask you to please enclose a picture of yourself to display with the quilt. It can be a digital picture printed on your home printer or a photograph. This has been an appreciated addition as viewers can see who make the quilt.
In addition to our quilt show, the William Bonifas Fine Arts Center in Escanaba will have tours available showing the film Condition One: A film about Extremes and the Human Spirit. The main gallery will be displaying the free exhibit: Transparent Things: Current Works of Russell Prather.
Quilt displays will be at merchants in downtown Escanaba and Gladstone. Our local quilt shop Quilts 'n Stuff by Glenna will be having special quilt show deals. Several area restaurants are also offering discounts – check with us when you attend for updated details.
